- Do not pin, baste or tack your quilt.
- Identify the head of the quilt top and backing.
- The backing and batting should be a minimum of 4" wider and 6" longer than the
quilt top.
- Quilt top and backing must be flat, square with no wavy edges. Quilting out excess
fabric may result in puckers or pleats in your finished top and/or backing.
- Quilt top should have no open edges or seam breaks.
- The quilt top and backing should have no loose threads.
- If your backing is seamed, it's best to have the seams running horizontally to the top
side of the quilt top
